At Philadelphia, Sir Hubert Wilkins received the Kane Gold Medal from the Geographical Society at a dinner given in his honour for the outstanding achievement in exploration. He inspected the Arctic submarine and said that the work was going along splendidly. The first of the trials will be a trip to New York, where he will re-chris-ten the submarine “Nautilus.” Thence it proceeds to Newfoundland for the the final tests.
