NORTHERN DIVISION WAITARA WINS SECTION PLAY Section play in the Northern Division of the bowling championship concluded on Saturday, when Waitara beat West End B by 143 to 142. NORTH V. SOUTH MATCH Sixteen South Taranaki rinks met and defeated an equal number of North Taranaki bowlers at Hawera on Saturday, by a total of 51 points. Eight rinks were engaged at both the Hawera and Park greens, and good bowling was the order of the day. Early good conditions gave way late in the afternoon to misty rain, which altered the pace of the greens considerably. At the Hawera Club's green, South Taranaki players finished the day with a lead of 24 points. Following are the scores, South names being mentioned first: —
