Wheether a caretaker may do any odd carpentry work wtihoufc being a qualified carpenter was questioned t the meeting of the Welling ten College Board. The secretary of the Carpenter’s and Joinsers’ Union wrote stating that the caretaker ol the College had been mi gaged doing carpentry work a Uege. He had erected a pc ' ’ rail fence, this being controry o tlie Dominion Carpeners’ award, as he was not a qualified carpenter. After remarking that the Union could supply as many carpenters as the Board required, the letter stated: “We understand the Board intends to do further work. If any handyman or caretaker is engaged on such work ke will be reluctantly compelled to take proceedings against the Board for breach of award.” The fetetr caused amusement to Board members, who stated n handyman was kept, for the purpose of doing such work.
