EDUCATION REPORT.
COMMITTEE'S RECOMMENDATION NO BILL THIS SESSIONIn. returning thanks for a motion supporting liim, Hon. H. Atmore, Minister of Education speaking at a meeting of teachers at Waipaiva, said that a number of recommendations in ilio Education Committee's report could lie given effect to without legislation. The session had been a fairly heavy one and owing to the necessity of getting other important measures through before the House rose, it was not possible to bring down the Bill this session. They could rest assured, however, that the matter would not be shelvedThe first portion of the report had met with a very cordial reception by the members on all sides of the House and he did not anticipate any serious objections. The Minister paid a tribute to the work of the committee aJthough it was composed of members representing the three parties, their decisions were arrived at unanimously.
