The referee was Air R. W. Huddo w. The following boxers have been selected to represent Taranaki at the New Zealand amateur championships at Palmerston North, subject to funds being available and to the confirmation of the Stratford selector:—R. Furze, Waitara, Welterweight; I). Roebuck, New Plymouth, flyweight; E. Griffen, Hawera, middleweight. R. Furze, Tikorangi, 10.81, umcliallenged amateur welterweight champion of Taranaki, and Jack Jones, ex-lightweight champion of Wales, gave an exhibition bout. Furze is considered one of the best amateurs of his weight in New Zealaud.
