SALVATION ARMY

BAND FESTIVAL. Colonel Carmichael, Divisional commander, led the meetings at the Salvation Army hall yesterday, the meeting's being in the nature of a farewell, in view of Colonel Carmichael’s early retirement from active work. The hall was packed for botfli morning and evening services, and the Hawera, Eltham and Stratford bands assisted. In the afternoon the bands gave a programme in Victoria Park before a fair number of people. , This evening the\bands will give a grand musical, festival at (the hall. Mr W. J. Poison, M.P., will preside.
