TWO MEN SENT TO GAOL WELLINGTON, March 31. Described as a sea lawyer, Arthur Caddy, aged 31, a fireman on the Earanga, put up a vigorous defence when he appeared in company with the ship's storeman, John David James Ware, aged 32, on charges of embezzling goods at Pictori. The Magistrate was satisfied that tho story was too thin and sentenced each to three months' gaol.
