NAPIER WOOL SALE
BIDDING VERY KEEN PRICES FIRM ON WANGANUI, NAPIER, Mareh fi. Tho fourth Namier wool sale was h(*l (1 to-night, when a catalogue of .13,638 bales was olTcrc I to a very full bench of buyers. On tho w’holf! tho bidding was keen; much more so than has been the case, at. previous sales at Napier this season. and one feature was that it. came from all quarters, showing that most of the markets of the world were keen to obtain wool at the prices ruling. Taking a line < -the recent Wanganui sale the prices for pieces and bellies were better than those ruling there. Fleece wool, on the opening catalogues, was about Is 4d easier, but, towards the latter end of the sale, full late rates at Wanganui sale were ruling. Lambs’ wool was about the same. Compared with the January sale in Napier fleece wool was, to-night, about. M to ;|d down, whilst pieces and bellies, for which there was a keen demand, showed id increase. Lambs’ wool was erratic, with prices up to last sale. Growers, generally, seemed willing to make up a comparatively small percentage, certainly not ns great as the last two sales held at Napier.
