TANGARAKAU.
Mr and Mrs Sibby have returned from a fortnight’s holiday in Wellington. Whilst conveying the milk from. Kohuratalii to Tangarakau on Tuesday, Mr W, Hight had the misfortune to go over the Bank on the Tahora Saddle. Hi s car was extensively damaged, Mr Bight having a narrow escape but was not hurt .in any way. There were no other occupants in the car.
Mr C. Meredith of the Public Works office staff leaves early next) week, accompanied By Mrs Meredith, fop an extended tour of Great Britain and the Continent, Many visitors took advantage of, the fine weather"during the weekend to visit Tangarakau. Now that the road is negotiable for motor traffic quite a large number of local residtents have purchased cars. It is reported that several have combined their efforts to erect a garage to accommodate eight, cars and that operations will commence this coming week. This is surely a move in the right direction as there are a number of cars on the Flat and no coverings for protecting them from the elements and a building of this sort will be appreciated by motorists.
