CAPSIZE OF DINGHY
YOUTH’S FORTUNATE ESCAPE
HAMILTON, Jan. 18
A fortunate escape from drowning was the experience of Robert Bray, a youth, and a well-known Raglan resident.
Yesterday while out cruising on Raglan harbour in a dinghy the sail fouled in a sudden gust of wind and capsized the dinghy. A strong outgoing tide, combined with a cross-current from the channel swept him towards the bar. Finally he readied the shore about four miles from the scene of the accident in an exhausted condition. Ho owed his iife to tho fact that ho had managed to retain a paii of oars and these supported him in an endeavour to reach safetv.
