morning. I On Friday afternoon . Mr A. tD. McMaster’s mail bag and bread was taken from a box and a search was made in the vicinity and at various
points a watch was kept. Even- 1 tually the lads were captured in.-a woolshed at Tauanui estate. The lads had pitched their camp about a mile in the hush and four or live miles from the nearest habitation. They were before the Court in Martiiiborough on Saturday morning and remanded. Late on Tuesday night a residence was entered and foodstuffs taken tnd a note was left on the wall thanking the ocupier for the food borrowed and threatening the person with a bullet, j

The two youth who decamped from their employer last week* atpl created a sensation in Piringa district were captured on Saturday by Constable Sleets, of Martiiiborough, in a woolshed where they had slept the night before, i When arrested the hoys were thoroughly exhausted, the first question they asked was “can we have a sleep” At midday they were still sleeping.
They were apA * n possession of the arms which they stole earlier in the week, having left them at their camp in the scrub. i They came out into the open on Friday and opened a private mail bag extracting the contents evidently in a search for food. A BULLET READY. They broke into the house of a former employer where they collected supplies of tea, sugar, bread, butter, aqd upon leaving wrote the following note ‘We thank you dear Joe for what we borrowed and will always have a bullet ready for you. (signed) Philip and Brown.”
An intensive search has been caried on in the bush, hut the hoys had slipped through hy another track. The hoys were captured without any fuss as had been, feared, They had plenty of food hut were sorely in need of sleep. They will appear before the juvenile court to-day.

The final chapter in the escapade of two youths a European and a Maori, in, the Pirinoa district was hoard in the Children’s Court this morning, when several charges of breaking, entering and theft were preferred against them. They pleaded guilty to all charges and the Magistrate recommitted them to ' 1 Werarea. ta i
