VALEDICTORY

MU AM) MRS L. BEALL RINGER* After their quarterly meeting last night, members of the Stratford Methodist circuit co-operated with the congregation of, the Stratford Methodist Church to hid farewell to Mr and Mrs L. L. Bellringer, who leave Stratford shortly to reside in New Plymouth. The Rev. J„ Boothroyd, who presided, said Mr and Mrs Bellringer had been indefatigable workers for the church, while Mr Bellringer had , rendered very special service as secretary to the circuit. Both had made themselves useful and almost indispensable. Circuit stewards Messrs G. Smith (Midhirst), Thomas Bell (Wharehuia), and J. Masters (Stratford), Mr R. H. White, on behalf of the trustees, and Mr E. E. Foster, superintendent of the Sunday School, added expressions of and goodwill. The senior steward, Mr Masters presented Mr and Mrs Bellringer with a beautiful crystal salad set, a crystal cream jug and a crystal rose bowl. Following the usual custom of the school in connection with children leaving the district, Dir Foster, on behalf of the Sunday School, presented the parents with two handsomely bound Testaments for Nola and Don Bellringer. A dainty supper was partaken of. Cheers for Mr and Mrs Bellringer wore given, and the company joJny ed in singing “For They are Jolly Good Fellows.” : i ; The gathering closed with the benediction. - ,
