SPECIAL APPARATUS FITTED. (Received 10.10 a.m.) LONDON, Oct. 4. Britain’s latest submarine, the Phoenix, has been launched. Tbc surface displacement is 1570 tons and submerged 2040. The vessel carries four-ich guns and eight torpedoes, and is equipped with apparatus for locating ships on the surface while submerged. It was consequently revealed that the Admiralty cancelled the order for another submarine'.—United Service.
