STRATFORD CLUB MEETS.

OFFICERS ELECTED.

K ANNUAL report. The annual report stated that the finances of the club were in a a oat-, isfactory position, due to the efforts of the members.. The funds raised by entertainments were to be used for improving the lawn s and buildings.

Ihe lawns, laid down during last year, had been re-levelled andi topdressed under the supervision of th e Borough Foreman, Mr W. D. Davis. These would shortly be ready for play qs would the top lawns which were' in excellent condition. During the year several inter-club matches had been played with the Avon and Eltham clubs. Four club members had: attended, the South Taranaki tournament held at Hawera and Mesdames Burgess and Morrison were to be complimented on winning the handicap doubles.

In the home m a trims Mrs Weston hail won the senior cup with Mrs Burgess runner-up. Mrs Burgess won the junior cup, with Mrs Barnford runner-up. The other trophies won were: Junior button, Mrs Gatton; Yankee tournament, Mrs Butohart; Progress prize, Mrs Butchart. The opening day was fixed for October 30,
