ANNUAL GATHERING
There was ideal wfeather to-day .for the annual sports gathering of the Stratford Athletic Club. Bright sunshine was tempered by a cool breeze, and when a start was made promptly at 1 p.m. there was every element for a splendid day’s sport. The portable seating accommodation was erected on the south side, reaching almost along the whole of the terrace and it contained quite a number of people when the first event on the programme was run.
Within half an hour of the start the crowd had thickened up, and things were in full swing. Proceedings were enlivened by a selection by the Stratford Pipe Band.
All arrangements had been carefully made, and the events wei e got off well to time. A 1I V the officials knew their jobs, and smoothness of running was a featur'e of the meeting. Results;—
