Autumn, April 19, 20— Hawkq’a Bay J.C. Aut, umn. MANAWATU AUTUMN MEETING. (By Papermcney.) The Manawatu Autumn meeting 'opens to-morrow (Wednesday) and concludes on Thursday. Good acceptances have been received and the course is in splendid order. Twelve have) accepted fbr the Karere Hurdles Handicap, one mile and three-quarters. Red Fuchsia, Braeman and Diana’s Lad are a likely trio to carry plenty of support.

Grattan ran well at Rangitikei and may he the favourite in the Autumn Plate, seven furlongs. Mothplane and Birkbeck will also carry some support 1 .

The Prince of Wales Handicap, due mile and one furlong has drawn a nice field of eleven. Bright 1 Glow is top weight with 8.6, and is sure to carry a lot of friends. In the Shade (8.5) is riot! over-burdened. Silver] Paper (8.3) may prefer the Telegraph Handicap over six furlongs. Blimp (8.) is reported to be in good order, and will go well, Seatown (8.2) is nicely weighted, and would only have to be well to have a. great' shok. Tresham (8.1) will be suited by the distance. Ruanui (7.11) and Mendip (7.10) are' possibilities. Discourse (7.2) is in winning form at present. Bonogne (7.0) may find the distance a little too far. Tidal i (7.d) will carry plenty of support from the Auckland district. Bright Glow, Tidal and Tresham are a likely trio to run prominently.

A large field is carded for the Woodley Handicap, six furlongs. Seme of the contestants have winning form to recommend them. A likely trio to carry some friends are Valuation, Goodwill and Tapestry.

Gay Ballerina will be the elect' of the punters in the Manawatu Sires’ Produce Stakes. Ceremony and Yalpre will not be neglected. The Awapuni Gold Cup has drawn a field of nine. Rapier Pegaway, and Laughing Prince may find solid support. The Telegraph Handicap has attracted a useful field of sprinters. Recent form says most of the chances of The Raider, Keddar and Limited, and it is in favour of Limited that he is lightly weighted. The Te Matai Handicap has drawn a field of 18.
