X X X The Electrical Department’ g work for the past month was as follows: Three ranges installed. 1 water heater, 6 heating points, 2 washing mach. ines, 14 light points, one 3k. w. ster. iliser converted from oil feed, xxx A fence has been erected along the north side of the lake in Victoria Park. XX X X The parking road at the Hospital has been grouted with pit gravel, xxx Grouting with bitumen has been done on Regan Street East from Orlando Street to Swansea Road. The tarred road is now twenty feeti widb from Broadway to Swansea Road, xz x x The Council decided irg_future all plans and specifications for building permits must carry the stamp- of the Stratford Borough Council with, the signatures of both the Building Inspector and Electrical Engineer affixed. xxx The following recommendation of the Electric Light Committee was adopt, edl: That a letter be sent to the Tar. anaki Power Board, pointing out that the interruptions in the supply of current this year, were due to the fact, that the Board' supplied current outside its legitimate area and that the Council desired an assurance that this will not occur again. IX X i The Mayor suggested the provision of some vehicle for tne conveyance of caskets from the gat© to to the gravesltle. A Councillor said there might be> sentimeintali object* ions. The Mayor agreed, fcut thought the vehicle should be provided for those who might require it. xxx It was decided to procure a pole for use at the cemetery, for carrying in wreaths. XX X X
As there i§ a shortage of water at the cemetery the Mayor thinks the Council should go ante _t/he matter of installing a ram. XIX Members of the Highways Board! are to visit Stratford on April loth and are to meet local body representatives in the Borough Council chamber. As this is tbe day for the reg--1 ular meeting of the council, it was decided that the council meeting be postponed till tbe following evening. The members of the Highways Board will be entertained at supper after the, conference. XX X X The Domain Board .adopted the suggestion of Mr A. Bon©,, caretaker, to meet him in Victoria! Phrfc, toi consider some alterations he has in maud. iX A X The Mayor moved] that the Coum oil cease to engage in the business of electric wiring. The motion was seconded by Cr. Harkness and supported by Cr. Kelly. After some discussion the matter was left to the in-coming Council, on the motion of Cr Fletcher. XXXI The attention, of the Railway Department is to he drawn to the condition of the vacant section, next to where tiro fire occurred recently rtn Broadway. Cr., North said the section was a disgrace to the centre of the town.. Thistles were growing up all over it and the fence was very dilapidated.
