Mr J. Frpdrtc was » passenger for Palmerston North this morning. The condition of Mr A. J. Barr, who iS' seriously ill, is very critical and is causing much alarm. The Rev. G. T. Beale has been offered the living of Holy Trinity Church, Stratford, by the Board of Nomination, and has accepted the appointment. Messrs P. Thomson a/nd: If. O. Robins were last night, reappointed to. represent the Stratford Bo rough; Council on the Erst Committee, of the Egmont National Park Board. As Miss jChristmas, of Christchurch, is unable, for health reasons, to take up duty as matron of the Ha.wera Hospital, Miss 0. Hunter, of Greymouth, has been appointed to the position.
