A message from Kempsey states that serious floods occurred on the Macleay River, and as it is still raining heavily the indications ara that the position will become worse. The river is a raging torrent and the low lying country is inundated by water four feet high. In some parts of Jvempsey'the majority of the people have vacated their homes.
