The Madrid correspondent of the Journal des Debats suggests that, despite the seeming completeness) of the Spanish Government’s victory, the spirit of the. rebellion is reaching a point at which the people arcready to risk their lives. Deports received in London fiom diplomatic sources suggest that the Spanish revolt is far graver and more extensive than the stringent censorship allowed to be known, says the Daily Telegraph. It has been disclosed that there was some shooting in several centres, disaffection and numerous casualties hitherto unpublished. The disaffection in the array spread to a portion of the navy.
A British United Press message from Hendaye states that the rising at Valencia was to have synchronised with another in Portugal. Everything was planned by exiles in Paris, whence the Portuguese'® Premier • was secretly warned in time foi both .governments to act successfully.
