Having pleaded guilty to eight charges of theft of benzine and oil in the course of his travels through the district, the total involved being £l3 16s, Jack McDowell was sentenced by the Magistrate, Mr R. W. Tate, S.M., to three months' gaoL Thomas John Henry "Withers was jointly "charged with the theft 1 of benzine and a cheese, was given probation for two years.
