HOSPITAL BOARD
MONTHLY MEETING. The monthly meeting of the,■Stratford Hospital Board was held yes- ) terday, when there were present: i Messrs W. L. Kennedy (chairman), J. O’Neill, J. T. Belcher, C. R. Finnerty, i G. P. Harkness, R. V. Kay, W. H. Wore, E. Marfell and T. H. Penn (secretary). The Medical Superintendent (Dr. Steven) reported that during December 49 Patienjs were adnijltyd and 54 discharged. There were seven admissions to (the Maternity Ward and six births. Twenty-four visits were paid to the ante-natal clinic. Four patients were admitted to iso*(ation, three remaining at the end of the mouth. , The matron (Mrs Hunt) reported inter alia: Nurse Humphrey completed midwifery training in December 15th and left hotspital. Nurse K. Smart commenced midwifery training (on December 20th. Nuyse Buttar commenced annual leave on December 28th. Gn behalf of patients and staff I wish to acknowledge with thanks the donation of £7 granted by the Board for Christmas cheer tor the hospital. , District Nurse Myers (Whangaraomona) reported that sixteen cases "had been attended during December. The Visiting Committee (Messrs) Kay and Marfell) repented, inter alia: We inspected the grounds on 10th instant and we found same to be in a .very good order, consequently there is little to report. The gardener has apparently had difficulty in obtaining weed-killer and the drive ig not quite as clean as it might be.
