A AND P ASSOCIATION

LADIES* ENTERTAINED. A pleasant li'ttle gathering took place at the Medina Tea Rooms on Saturday last when Mr and Mrs J. W. Crowe entertained the Ladies' Committee of the A. and P. Association at afternoon tea. Those present were Mesdames Petrie, Moody, Wickstcad, Johnson, Walker. Rogers, Barr and Miss Frogley. Mrs Walker, of Ngaerei handed Mrs Crowe a beautiful bouquet. After tea had been partaken of Mr J. W. Boon (president') said he wished to thank Mr .and Mrs Crowe for entertaining them and for giving him the opportunity of personally thanking those ladies who had worked so hard, not only this year but for many, years, in the initerests of the Show. He quite understood the amount of work it entailed having had some experience in the work of th e luncheon rooms in the earlier days of the Show. This work had been carried on for fifteen or sixteen years by different bands of voluntary workers, and so successfully bad it been done that the Show owed its excellent financial position mositly to them. To show their appreciation and the goodwill which had always existed am6ng them, the Ladies' Committee wished bim to band Mrs Crowe a gift of <a beautiful box of handkeri chief s for her work in carrying out everything so smoothly and harmoni- ; ously.

Mr A. David also made a few appreciative remarks endorsing all Mr Boon had said in reference to the work of the ladies, especially to the one who had undertaken making fifty plum puddings and blending the flavour just to Ms liking. Mr Boon then made a few remarks to Miss Progley, who is severing her connection with the Association and leaving for Norfolk Island, wishing her a happy future and a prosperous life in her new home.

Mrs Crowe and Miss Fr'ogley briefly replied for the gifts and good wishes of all.
