The car skidded at Royston ([Hertfordshire) in an attempt! to avoid a cyclist and overturned, catching fire. Lady Glanely, the chauffeur and a maid were rescued with difficulty, the jewels remaining in the car. The petrol exploded, and some scattered jewels were recovered, otherwise' they were almost a total loss. The cyclist sustained a fractured skull and leg) and is in a critical condition.—Times Cable.
