Sir Joseph Wlard said the future path of the party wsmld not ho an easy one, hut he had no feluls as to the ultimate result. The Minister of Lands, the Hon. G. W. Forbes, made it clear he intended to prosecute a vigorous policy of land settlement. The Minister of Defence, the Hon. T. M. Wilford, stressed the fact that the aim of the United Party was to promote the growth of national i gcpd.
