The Prune Minister, Sir Joseph Ward, was entertained to-night by the United Party at a dinner at the Royal Oak Hotel. The ol Railways, the Hon. W. Sir Joseph Wlard said the future path of the party wsmld not ho an easy one, hut he had no feluls as to the ultimate result. Njew [Zealand was a great country and he would not exchange it even for the Mother Country.
The Minister of Lands, the Hon. G. W. Forbes, made it clear he intended to prosecute a vigorous policy of land settlement. The Minister of Defence, the Hon. T. M. Wilford, stressed the fact that the aim of the United Party was to promote the growth of national i gcpd.
