GET BEHIND THE MEMBER FOR THE DISTRICT
• The iß'oroughj Council, last night passed a resolution thanking Mr. E. Walter lata member for the district, for his services to the district generally and for his attention to the business qjP the Council; and' also tendering; the "Council's congratulations to Mr. Poison, M.P., on his ejection, as member for the district. In proposing the, motion the Mayor said that Wi -Walter, in his speech on election night, had struck the right note, when he said everybody should get behind the. new member. He thought the council should take that advice and he felt sur4 the Council would work as well with Mr. Poison in the future ag they had with Mr. Walter in the; past.
