ENGINEER'S REPORT. The Engineer (Mr J. W. Spence) presented l the following report nt Saturday's meeting of th e , Stratford • County Council: North Riding.—During the past month the edges of the bitumes on the Mountain Road near Wiiilpuku have been built up with tar grouting. This lias bad the effect of widening the road! surface'and reducing tlie excessive camber. .Metal-patcb(in.a] has been carried out on the Stanley, Cardiff, Pembroke and Denbigh Roads. The sides'fare being scarified, the centre rounded up and rolled. An old wooden culvert on the York Road caved in and has been replaced with thirteen twelve-inch concrete pipes. • : South Riding.—Metal-patching has been done On the Skinner North and south, Cliniio and Solo Roads. A light coat of finely-crushed metal has been placed on part of the Pukengailni Road. The surface had beccme very rough owing to napped metal being used when first metalled.
