KING’S THEATRE, DOUBLE FEATURE. “THE MAGICIAN.” Tfye old arsenal library in Paris where are to be found old books on science, magic and hypnotism, was one of the many locations of interest use.d by Bex Ingram during the filming of “The Magician” in Europe, lor Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer. This old library with its stone pillars and walls darkened with age is situated in the heart of the Latin Quarter on the left bank of the Seine. Alice Terry, Paul Wegener, Firinin Gender, and Ivan P'etrovitdi enact the, leading parts i* l this film, now showing at the King’s Theatre., IN THE ‘LIFE OF RILEY.’ Splendid comedy characterization are provided for Sidney and Murray, as Police Chief and Fire Chief respectively, of a small town. Myrtle St.edmau enacts the role of a> charming widow to whom, they both pay court; Stephen Carr and June Marlowe carry on a pretty junior romance ; Sam Hardy is a picturesque sharper and villain and Edward Davis has an excellent supporting part. The story was written especially foy the famous comedians by Manu Pabe, playwright and photoplay writer. Howard J. Green adapted it for the screen and Curtis Benton wrote the continuity. In addition to this trio of authors, further ingenious comedy was injected into the sfoiy during the filming by Jack Mmtz comedy instructor.
