FRUITFUL WEST AUSTRALIAN GROUNDS. ... _..uJ \VIIALES PLENTIFUL. BIG YIELD OF OIL. (Received 10.20 a.m.) CAPETOWN, October 21. Four Norwegian whalers have returned from the West Australian grounds. Captain Olsen, who has had long experience in the Antarctic, said he had never before done so well. Twenty whales wer e sometimes caught in one day. They were smaller hut fatter than the Antarctic whales, and produced 36,000 barrels of oil, valued at £IBO,OOO, Owing to the hazardous landing at Point 1 Cloates the sailors had net left the ships for three years. After a cruise in the South Atlantic, Captain Olsen will return in May to Australia. —Australian Press Assn.
