The weather was showery with a bitterly cold southerly wind and the course was heavy. The totalisator handled £31,208, compared with £42,885 on the corresponding day last year. Concluding events” resulted; — Grand National Hurdles, about two miles and a half.—2 Nukumai 1, 4 Gaze, 2, 1 Red Fuchsia 3. Also started: Beau Cavalier, Brigaclieir Bill, pouri, Peneus, Scion, Kilburn. Won by three lengths, four lengths between second and third. louii was fourth. Peneus and Beau Cavalier fell, the latter after leading for nearly two miles. Time, smin 20 sec. August Handicap, six furlongs.— 2 Cheloue 1, 3 Taboo 2, 1 Kaiti 3. Also started: Royal Damon. Fairy ,Herald, Battle Colours, Royal Game, Tuahine, Royal Haxon, Decoy Bird, Miss Winkie, Malmsey, Antrim Boy, Buoyant* Mime. W°u by iLluee lengths, a. head between second and third. Tuahine was fourth. Time, Imin 19sec. Summer Handicap, one mile. 2 Marjoram 1, 1 Pangolin 2, 10 Sol--fello 3. Also started: Quarterdeck, Teri, Beau Geste, Amor, Boy, Lancer, Princess Mafalda, Grand National, .Wreath of Myrtle, Kulrange, Tam Glen, Memho. Won by half a head, two lengths between second and third. Teri was fourth. Time, Imin 51 4-ssec. Islington Handicap, one mile and a quarter. —2 Town Bank 1, 3 Rotor 2, 1 Black Mint 3. Also started: Bisox, Taboo, Thorndale, Chickwheat, Nincompoop, Overdrawn, Atareria, Kilmiss, Gold Mint, Hoylake, Shandro. Won by half a head, a length and a half between second and third.
