MOTOR FATALITY

CAR OVER BANK. PLUNGE INTO Y'ARRA. MELBOURNE, August 15. A closed motor-car traversing Alexandra Avenue this morTrßig apparently missed the turn, as it plunged down the bank at a speed of 20 miles an hour into the Y'arra River. Bubbles were seen coming to the surface of the water, which is fifteen feet de->p, but some time elapsed before rescue efforts were undertaken, by divers. The body of a man was recovered, and it was thought there was another man and a woman in the car. The bedy is believed to be that of a Mr Davy, a commercJil traveller resident at East Malvern. A doctor ha s declared death was due to heart failure. This would explain the car's erratic movements before the plunge. iTTrcels in the back were probably mistaken for other passengers, as the diver has been unable to trace any. one else near the sunken vehicle.
