Sir,-—The charges made in England and America that the world's press was indulging in a conspiracy of silence regarding'persecutions ofpeoph' in Mexico for their religious Views appears to bo borne out by investigations made by the'London Daily Express. l<{ will be,, remembered that as a result of a letter sent to that paper, by an English baronet, it, instructed its New York correspondent ; to proceed to Mexico and find out the true facts. Publications to hand show that the investigations disclosed the tales of cities were only too well founded, and some terrible things were bein.-? done by the soldiers, but nevertheless religion still flourished. The correspondent had a personal interview with Calles, who proudly declared himself as an uncompromising enemy of Christ. Yet nothing was cabled out about it, and one Wonders why. Surely this sort of thing has a s much news value as the twaddle we get about the Prince of Wales having coffee in the living 'room of a farmer's cottage which probably anoys His Royal Highness exceedingly and makes him wish scribblers would show a little more ss!iso of the fitness of things.
