TE POPO DAIRY CO.

ANNUAL MEETING. Mr A W. Budge, chairman of directors, presided at the. annual meeting of shareholders of the Te Pbpo. Dairy Co., held yesterday. The output for the season was practically tfie same as last year, h tons, stated ,the report. Supplies received advances totalling Is 5d per lb butter-fat, and, since the date or balancing, a bonus of 3d per lb. The statistics for the year, the 1927 figures being In parentheses, are:-M'ilk received, i,489,9251bs (1465,4051 b); average tesi\, LOS ( 40fi); butter-fat, 60,8151 b (53,884 lb)'" cheese, factory weight, 155,186 lb '(154,047); milk to lib cheese, 9 601 b (9.511 b); cheese to lib but-ter-fat 2.551 b (2.621 b); charges to f.o.b. per lb butter-fat, 3-78(1 (4.05 d). The yield of cheese per lb o £ but-ter-fat was 2.551 b. In moving the adoption of the report and balance-sheet Mr Budge said a separator had been installed at a cost of £217. This, he thought, would be a source of revenue in the future.

They had sold their ffroduce up to the end of December, consisting of 85,6321 b, at Sid per lb, thereby doing good business. The balance, 69,5051 b, had been sold at 9d, but in'ithis case Mr Budge thought the directors were i n error. However, other cheese factories had done the same. The chairman suggested that a resolution be moved to the effect that the directors should not be empowered to dispose of the company's produce without the consent of the shareholders. Their yield wa s poor, Mr Budge considered. Was it in the manufacture or the country on which the cows were running? Messrs A. W. Budge and A. S. Slater, the retiring directors, were re-elected. Mr A. J. Barr was re-elected auditor. It was resolved that wherever possible the directors should consult- all suppliers when an offer had been received to sell. At a subsequent meeting of directors, Mr Budge was re-elected chairman.
