MONTHLY MEETING. The monthly meeting of the Stratford Board was held this morning, W&en ’there were present: Messrs W. L. Kennedy (chairman), J. O’Neill, J. T. “Belcher, E. Marfell, C. R. Finnerty, W. H. Were, G. P. Darkness, it. V. Kay and T. H. Penn (secretary). The secretary of the , Taranaki Rugby Uiiion (Mr S. Nlelspn) wrote inquiring the Board’s charge per day and the rate of The Union was endeavouring to create a fund to assist injured players in their hospital fees, blit the claims against the-fund could not be final " iseil until the end of the season, and the Union desired to know if discount would be allowed on accounts pdid by the end of September in each year.' ’ » ! Mr Were thought that if the request was granted the Union should guarantee payment of the accounts. LAUNDRY. The tender of Mr J. Hale (£162 ’6s 6d) whs accepted for extensions to the laundry. VISITING COMMITTEE. The Visiting Committee .(Messrs O’Neill and Were), recommended that two new gate posts he provided at the wesetrn entrance. Hawk-weed Was showing badly on the lawn- and needed attention. K The Medical Superintendent (Dr. Steven) reported: During July 67 patients were admitted, 62 were disand there were four deaths. -Thirty-seven remained in hospital at the' cud 'of ■ the month.- Twenty, operations were performed. There were nine admissions to the Maternity Ward and nine births. There
