At 3 a.m. the - police found the prisoner loitering in' a suspicious manner near the" entrance to a garage, and after watching him for some time, .took ' him into custody. When charged he said that he though* he had a. perfect right to be in, the public streets at any hour of the day or night. it was stated, has ai curious history. He went from New Zealand to America, where he got into 'trouble, and after being charged'in New York he wao ordered to be deported. He was put on a ship for New Zealandi'and came, via England,, his full passage expenses being WjJ, 'by the American Government. lie had to wait some days at Southhampton, but arrangements were made for W 'to stay at an hotel. When his boat sail*l for New Zealand hei was not to be found and a day or t,w. later he «p <{\frW* in London-with stealing tins ot too" from the docks. He was then bound 07 er, and a few days later he was, re-arrested at Cricklewood. Ine American Government now refused to have anything further to do wrth he was stranded m tin* ■fT country.
