For the first time in the history of the King’s Theatre was a picture cheered and clapped wneu the epic Australian film “For the Term of his Natural Life’’ had its initial screen' ing in Stratford last night. Out of the pages of history the screen has recorded something rare and poignant, soulful and inspiring. TToru is sensation m every moment of this great production. No story of early Australia ever created such a .stir as Marcus Clarke’s thrilling epic; of tins old convict system- Wonderful scenes sensational and incidents are packed into the ton reels of this thrilling adventure. Eva Novak and George Fischer take the leading roles, ihei are supported by a listed east of over thirty players and a big supporting cast of o*or a thousand. During the evening the King’s Trio feature* 1 the music “For the Term of His Natural Life” which vas, dedicated to Norman Dawn for his wonde * wo-j; in the production which cost Australia £60,000. “The Term of His Natural Life will bo screened to-night and for the final screening to-morrow night, .patrons are well advised to make sure of a seat by reserving. EUCHRE TARTY 7 . There was an excellent attendance at the Fire .Brigade euchre party* held last, night and a very enjoyable time was spent. The prizes won as fellows; Ladies, Mrs King;; booby, Mrs - Brausgrove; gents, Mr W. Jane; boobv, Mr J. IT. Sharrock. A dainty supper concluded the evening. PEMBROKE ROAD. On Tuesday a very pleasant evenant evening etaoin taoniaoinaoimoj ing was given in the Pembroke Hall by Mr and Mrs ,S. H. Wicksteed for their son Barton, prior to his leaving for England. The hall was very prettily decorated for the occasion. During the. evening songs were rendered by Miss Aaguard, Mrs Bclcher and Mr E. Aldridge and recitations by Miss Patti© Childs and Miss Elsie. Fergus son. On behalf of the people of Pembroke district Air Belcher presented the guest of tile evening with a travellingi rug. , The music was supplied by Waite s orchestra and left nothing to be desired- Extras were played by M,sfl Aagaard Miss Phyllis Miss Femmell, Mrs Gooch and Mr Belcher.
