Tho chairman was instructed to make representations to the Department regarding conveniences at Mahon and the architect was instructed to draw up plans for the remodelling of the infant department at Stratford. The following list of proposed works in order of urgency wag placed before the Board; —\Jrcydon (permanent school), Waitaanga (movable school room), Hahotu /additional classroom), Waitara (rebuilding and additions), Tikorangi (remodelling), Tataraimaka (remodelling), Rwicoln. (remodelling), Tanirutangi (reinstatement), Wbakamara (reinstatement).' Pihama (additions), Pembroke (additions), Ngaero (additions), Newall (additions).

On Mr White recalling that Waitara was first on the list in January. Mr Smith said it had been put

back because, in view of the large amount involved, the department had said it could not consider the matter during the financial year. Mr Smith said the application now in for Waita.ra was tor rebuilding and tiie question was whether this should he replaced by a request for open-air classrooms.

It was decided to apply for openair types of rooms at Waitara and a “free” room.

It was decided to alter the list to the following order: Croydon, Waitaanga, 11-aliotu, Waitara, Wliakamara, Fitzroy, Tikorangi, Tataraimaka, Lincoln, Tarnrntangi, i’ihama, Ngaere and Newell. Pembroke was nob included, as the inspector said it was dropping in gjrade. ' The architect, Mr C. H. Moore reported that the sections for the movable classroom at Raekolma, langaiakan, were well in hand at the workshop* ami they would he railed to Tangarakan as soon as possible. The heating at the Stratford Primary School wa s being attended to. The appointment of a woodwork instructor for Stratford,, was left ini the hands of the Chairman. The resignation of Mr B. Wickstend probationer, Stratford, was received.
