OLD DAY METHODS
CHURCM ANNIVERSARY. FAVOURED BY REV. BIAMIREB. Speaking at the Methodist gathering last night the Rev. H. L. Rlamiros said that lie was much in favour of going back to the practice ol the old days in reference to the form of the week night celebration of the church anniversary- Ho had many pleasant memor.es of the' oldfashioned Methodist tea-meetings to which everybody in the community cable., There was no such thing as wireless in those days, and many found their way along muddy roads to the tear-meeting with the aid of lanterns. The speeches at the public meeting following the* tea-meeting were very closely followed, and tbo people would be found discus, ug them weeks afterwards. He thought it would be a good idea,' if the teameeting and the public meeting which followed it could be reinstated in their old importance.
