THE STOCK MARKET.

Messrs Newton King, Ltd., forward the following 1 report on their Taranaki stock sales for the past

week: The cattle market continues to he very brisk and good business is being done with all classes of cattle, particularly with good-class dairy cows and heifers.

The demand for sheep continues to improve steadily and the majority of farmers who are holding sheep aie not keen to sell at present. Feed is still plentiful throughout the province, and in consequence the demand’ for all classes of live stock is likely to continue. Recent quotations are as follows; Fat cows £7 to £8 10s, forward cows £4 to £5 10s, store cows £2 17s 6d to £3 ISs, weaner hdifers, good quality £4 5s to £5 10s, mixed coloured lots £2 7s 6d to £3 10s. mixed sex lambs up to 2Gs to rparticularly good lines, ewe lambs rather light in condition 26s lOd, wcthei lambs rather light in condition 21s 8d to 22s Id, ewes in lamb 34s to 35s light conditioned ewes in lamb 27s’ 9d, 4 and 6-tooth store wethers 30s.
