THE SOUTH TARANAKI AUTOMOBILE ASSOCIATION (Incorporated). IWEMBBRS are reminded that as A form the Ist June next, they must observe the following provisions of the New Motor Regulations: 1. Dimming Forbidden: (15) On and after the Ist day of June, 1928, no person shall, while a motor-vehicle is in motion, cause or knowingly permit any head light displayed hy such vehicle to be displayed, or extinguished, or appreciably varied in brilliance, In a sudden manner, whether by dimming or any other means. 2. Light to be Displayed; (5) Every motor-vehicle (including trailers) shall be equipped with a lamp (herein referred to as a “tail-light”) attached thereto at the rear thereof, and at or near the righthand side thereof, and (in the case Of a vehicle constructed with a chassis) at or near the level of the chassisframe, which lamp shall show a red light to the rearward. 3. ' Adjustment of Headlights: (10) Every headlight attached to a motorvehicle shall he so focussed and adjusted that when the vehicle is standing on a horizontal surface the main beam of light is not projected to a height which at a distance of 75ft. from the lamp is more than 3ft 6in. . , above such horizontal-surface. hi, 4. Driver’s Reflectors: (3) No peroperate any motor-vehicle (other, than a motor-cycle not having a side-car attached) which is not equipped with a reflector or periscope so arranged as to enable the driver to be aware without turning his head of the existence or approach of any other vehicle on the right-hand side behind the driver. 5. Condition of Brakes: (13) Each brake referred to l in this regulation shall be capable of easy adjustment, and shall he maintained at all times in good working order. & Warning Devices; Motorists should familiarise themselves with Regulation 7.
