OVERSEAS ITEMS. Courtney 'has abandoned his Atlantic flight. Levine has abandoned hi H flight to America till 1928, ♦ « * A fire which destroyed the Rowaua Hotel (Sydney), was attended by the tragic death of two men, one dying in a heroic attempt to rescue his friend from the flames. * * * George King and Stephen Francis were staying the night at the hotel, and were awakened by the fire. Francis ran from the hotel but, finding King was still inside, returned in a futile endeavour to rescue the .other man. He was badly burned, and died in hospital. King’s remains were later found in the ruins of Hie building. * ♦ ♦ Dr. Yoronoff, lecturing at the Zoological Congress, appealed*to mothers to assist with experiments, and allow him to operate on children of exceptional talents, enabling the founding of a new race of supermen. • * * A Detroit message states that five balloons in the international race came down on Sunday night. They were the Belgian, Swiss, German, United States Army and French entries.
