Nelson’s general store at Whataro was broken into. A heavy safe was taken outside and broken open with, a slidge hammer and an iron bar. The amount stolen consists of £7 in notes. The thieves also took about twenty shillings in cash from the HU and also the ledger and the cash book- The sate was damaged beyond repair. The police have the matter in hand, bub no arrest has been made jet.
