YOUNG MAN GAOLED. .! Per Press Association PALMERSTON N., June 16. , A young; man, described as-a gardener, .appeared before Messrs S. Abrahams and 0, H. Bennett, J.P.'a in the Magistrate's Court to-day charged with drunkenness, resisting a constable, and destroying Government property to the value of V2s 6d. Senior-Sergeant o'Grady stated that accused. endeavoured ''to jl'oi-cc his way into the Showgrounds without ai ticket, and,.on being sitooped, he grappled with the gatekeeper. Accused wa (S alleged to have used very disgusting language in the presence of women and children. A|b the (police utalion he did damage. Accused bad not been long iai N'e|w Zealand, and had been in. the police force in England. Accused was sentenced to one mouth's imprisonment on each charge, sentences to be concurrent.
