TECHNICAL HIGH SCHOOL
MEETING OP THE BOARD, The monthly meeting of (he Stratford High School Board of Governors was held last evening, Mr li. Trimble presiding. There were also present. Messrs S. Macalister, S. Ward, C. Moore, X. li. .Moss. J. Cocker, the Rev. ,J. L. A. Kay]l, and the Principal, Mr A. It. it. Amess. Apologies for absence were received from Messrs ('. D. Sole and J. McAllister. PRINCIPAL'S REPORT. The Principal /(Mr A. 11. R. Amess) reported: The roll is as follows:—First year icommercial 23, 2nd year commercial 21, 3rd and 4th year commercial 14; total commercial 58. First year science 00, 2nd year science 39, 3rd and 4th year science 3C; total science 125. First year general 28, and year general 20, 3rd and 4th year general 41, total general 9(5. Grand total 2XII. The school was closed for a week at Faster in accordance with the request of the Duke of York. Anzac Day was observed as usual. The attendance has been well maintained throughout the month. The term examinations began on Thursday, April 2Sth. On Monday, May 2nd, the school was visited by Miss Dyer and Mr Renyard, the Departmental Inspectors. GENERAL. It was decided that Miss Sheltpn, who had been lilling the position of musical instructor, shall carry.on in this capacity. II was decided to make application to the Department for a screw-cut-ting lathe. Mr T. M. Ball, district engineer Public Works Department, reported on repairs necessary for the roof of the school. — It was decided to forward the report to the Education Department and to apply for the maximum subsidy. The I'.VV.D. is to he asked to put the work in hand.
