MAN BADLY SCALDED. DIES IN HOSPITAL. Per Pro** Association AUCKLAND, This Day. A man named Lyttelton was burned about, the feet at Sweetwater last week through falling into a vat of boiling gum. He died in the Mangonui Hospital FOUND DEAD. HASTINGS, This Day. On an entrance being forced to the residence of Sophie Emily Olaridge (68), married, living alone., and of eccentric disposition, she was found dead yesterday in a decomposed condition. She was last seen by the baker on January 15. GAS POISONING. AUCKLAND, This Day. Robert Emmett was found dead in his lodgings, a pipe connecting the gas meter being cut. The room was filled with gas. Evidence was given at the inquest that deceased was a plumber, aged about 64. The verdict was suicide by gas poisoning. MOTOR COLLISION. CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. About 12.30 this morning a man named Joe Robinson while, riding a motor cycle at the intersection of Cashel Street and East Belt, came into collision with a motor car. Robinson, who sustained bead injuries and fractured left ankle, was admitted 1o the hospital seriously injured.
