DAIRY PRODUCE PRICES.
The Now Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, have received the following cablegram from their London House under date 22nd instant: Dairy Produce (last week's quotations in parentheses) Butter: ..New Zealand cnoicesi, market slow. Stored 164 s per cwt. (162 sto 1665). Controlled: Quotations unchanged. Cheese: Market slow. Quotations unchanged*(9ss to 965).
On March 24th and 25th next Messrs Wright, Stevenson and Co. and the Farmers' Co-op. will hold an important sale of pedigree Jersey cattle on account of Mr John Hale. The complete Holly Oak herd is to he dispersed, Mr Hale having decided to retire from the breeding of Jerseys. Amongst many other famous Jerseys bred by Mr Hale are included those famous champion producers, all of which have held the British Empire record—Pretty's Flirt 10101 b butterfat in 365 days, Lady Superior, 9791 b. butterfat (milked twice a day only), and Hoily Oak Annie, 10561 b. butterfat. In addition to Lady Superior and all her near relations, there will also figure in the sale a full sister to Holly Oak Annie,, her dam, and her world renowned sire Grannie's Knight, and many other equal famous cattle. Every animal in this wonderful herd is without exception of the highest class. PRODUCE MARKET. Messrs Sturm, Phillips and Co. reports a good sale of fruit and poultry on Friday. Ducks brought'2/- to 3/-, ducklings 3/- to 4/-, geese 4/to. 6/-, hens 1/6 to 2/9, cockerels 6d . to 2/6, turkeys (gobblers) 12/- to 16/-, (hens) 6/- to 10/-, apples (Doherty) 5/- to 107- per bushel, Sturniers 6/- to 10/-.
