A man entered a bank at Liverpool, held up the staff AVith a revolver and when the cashier attempted to prevent him taking some silver from the counter he fired. The cashier was seriously woiinded and the theif dashed : into the street mirsued by the bank manager calling: "Stop thief!" A crowd joined in the chase, and the thief fired point blank at two men who were both wounded. A policeman, ■who attempted to fell him with his baton, was also wounded, but eventually the man was arrested. Examination at the bank showed that only a few shillings had been stolen. 1..,.
