COURT RETURN.
FOR LAST QUARTER. The local Magistrate's Court figures for the quarter ended Sept. 30 show in many instances a decrease in civil business and an increase in criminal business in comparison with the same period last year. The details are as under, figures for the three months ended Sept. 30, 1925, being shown in parenthises: Sitting before a Magistrate, civil 6 (6), criminal (J (6), before Justices civil 1 (2), criminal 9 (11). Total amount sued for £1466/15/8 (£2021 9/9), applications in chambers 22 (3), pemits entered 109 (119), distress warants issued 3 (5), judgment summonses 24 (12), summonses and other processes served by bailiff 131 (144), warrant executed by bailiff 13 (7). CRIMINAL CASES. The criminal returns show that S 9 males were charged with various offences as against 52 for the same period last year. Of these there were 7 arrested as against 14 for the other period under review. Criminal fine.s and fees amounted to £lOl 2s (£26 16s) and civil tines collected totalled £126 13s (£9l 2s). Licensing fees amounted to £5 4s (£2). New pensions applications granted were' 13 (5) and renewals 30 (36). Five new claims weje refused, one being similarly treated during the ttffec months in question last year. t Fees payable to local bodies are: Main Highways Revenue Fund £7. Stratford County Council £3 17s (£1 10s), Stratford Borough Council £24 (£3).
