A torrent from a mountain behind the town carried everything before it. flooded all hu,sin<?sa places alontr the waterfront, smashed two concrete bridgos in the main street", rendered the water fnpn!y useless and washed away the walls surrounding the baths Many premises were flooded two to four feet. Municipal property was damaged to the extent of £SOOO. The Hums Philo Co. estimate their less at £3OOO. Manv houses ww damaged. Altogether five bridges were washed away. During the .lownnour most of the residents went about in shorts and bathing costumes. The total damage is estimated at .CIO.Ut.KV
