The death has occurred at Christ church of Mr William Garrard, aged 90 years. He v«s well known to sportsmen. He came to New;, Zealand 60 years ago, settling at Nelson until 1874, when he removed to Christchurch, where he remained aiM the time of his death. His sons are Mr W. G. Garrard, of Christchurch; Mr Joseph Garrard, Lyttelton, manager of Kinsey and Co.; M C. A. Garrard, chief Inspector of schools, at Auckland; and Mr H. P. Garrard, of Christchurch.
